This strategic investment expands current production output, advances research and development activities and utilises capacity across existing cleanroom space, strengthening Europe\u2019s semiconductor supply chain and serving industry need.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>The expansion involves\u00a0upgrading\u00a0existing fabrication facilities and the installation of\u00a0leading-edge\u00a0manufacturing\u00a0equipment.\u00a0Key infrastructure enhancements include the\u00a0expansion of\u00a0the\u00a0automated track system to integrate disparate campus modules into a singular, high-velocity production environment.\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>The execution of this \u20ac5 billion capital expenditure programme began earlier this year.\u00a0This project is expected to engage specialised tradespeople across construction and equipment install,\u00a0in addition to\u00a0full-time high-tech jobs\u00a0at Intel.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p><strong>Naga Chandrasekaran, Executive Vice President,<\/strong>\u00a0<strong>Chief Technology and Operations Officer and General Manager of Intel Foundry<\/strong><strong>\u00a0said<\/strong>,\u00a0\u201cThis \u20ac5 billion investment represents a definitive commitment to maximize capacity at our Leixlip campus and increase what we can deliver to Intel Foundry customers.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>\u201cBy investing in our existing fabs with state-of-the-art technology and installing cutting-edge tools, we are not just increasing output of critical products like Xeon 6 and next gen Intel Xeon processors built on Intel 3, we are ensuring that Ireland remains at the\u202fforefront of the world\u2019s most advanced manufacturing\u202fecosystems, while strengthening the region\u2019s role in the global technology landscape.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>This\u00a0commitment\u00a0supports\u00a0a key pillar\u00a0to grow and strengthen\u00a0Ireland\u2019s\u00a0semiconductor ecosystem,\u00a0positioning Ireland as a leading European manufacturing hub. It further serves as a critical contribution to the European Union\u2019s\u00a0Tech-Sovereignty\u00a0ambitions,\u00a0facilitating\u00a0a resilient, domestic supply of leading-edge processors.\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>Intel has invested more than \u20ac30 billion in Ireland since establishing operations in 1989, with the Leixlip campus serving as one of the company&#8217;s most advanced manufacturing facilities.
