A new player, Biograph, has just\u00a0emerged from stealth, and it\u2019s co-founded by one of the biggest names in longevity science: Dr. Peter Attia. Attia is a Canadian American physician best known as the author of the bestseller \u201c<a title=\"\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Outlive:_The_Science_and_Art_of_Longevity\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">Outlive: The Science and Art of Longevity<\/a>\u201d and for his podcast.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>Biograph\u2019s CEO and other co-founder is John Hering, a prominent Silicon Valley figure. A cybersecurity founder who infamously\u00a0scanned\u00a0celebrities\u2019 cellphones at the 2005 Academy Awards, Hering has become best known as one <a title=\"HPE wins a great deal for Elon Musk\u2019s X\" href=\"https:\/\/thecatalystonline.in\/segments\/hpe-wins-a-great-deal-for-elon-musks-x\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Elon Musk\u2019s <\/a>biggest backers through his role as a partner at Vy Capital. There, Hering has poured billions into Musk\u2019s startups and donated $500,000 to a pro-Trump super PAC before the election, per\u00a0a WSJ profile.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>Biograph calls itself the world\u2019s \u201cmost advanced\u201d preventive health and diagnostics clinic. It currently has a location in Silicon Valley with plans to open in New York City this quarter, and eventually expand globally, according to an announcement on its website.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>The startup says it will collect over 1,000 data points across 30+ evaluations to paint a holistic picture of someone\u2019s health and optimize their lifespan. It doesn\u2019t come cheap: its Core membership costs $7,500 per year while the premium Black membership\u2014which it says provides the \u201cdeepest insights\u201d\u2014runs $15,000.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>Biograph is backed by Vy Capital, Human Capital, Alpha Wave, and Wndr Co, along with angel investors including\u00a0Balaji Srinivasan, the startup told TechCrunch. Biograph declined to specify how much funding it has raised.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>In a\u00a0statement, Hering said he was inspired to co-found Biograph by the cancer diagnosis of his Vy Capital partner and friend Alexander Tamas. Tamas\u00a0posted on X\u00a0that a check-up in his late 30s resulted in an early thyroid cancer diagnosis that probably saved his life\u2014and caused him to encourage Hering to get checked, too.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>Biograph claims that over 15% of members have reported discovering \u201curgent or life-alerting health\u201d insights through its services.
