Amlan Mohanty<\/a> has been appointed as the Head of Policy \u2013 India. He shared the news of his new role through a LinkedIn post. He said he is excited to shape Anthropic’s<\/a> presence in India and build trusted partnerships with government, industry and civil society.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

“I’m thrilled to be joining\u00a0Anthropic\u00a0to lead policy in India!\u00a0I respect Anthropic\u2019s research and safety-first approach to building AI, which aligns with my personal values. The people I\u2019ve met are smart, mission-driven and intellectually honest \u2013 and they ship great products at incredible speed\u201d, the\u00a0LinkedIn post.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

\u201cTwo weeks inside a frontier AI lab has left me feeling more convinced about the power of this technology to radically improve our lives. Equally, we need to be mindful of the risks and act thoughtfully, which I\u2019ve written about extensively\u201d, the post added.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

Before joining Anthropic, Mohanty served as an Associate Fellow at the Centre for Responsible AI. In this role, he was responsible for writing research papers and advising on AI safety and governance issues.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n
