With the adoption of new digital generational technologies and innovations, the UAE<\/a> is entering a new phase of economic development. A major driver of the UAE’s sustainable economic growth is expected to be the digital economy, contributing nearly 20 percent to the GDP of the country over the next ten years. The IoT, AI, blockchain, metaverse, or Web 3.0 are being promoted through new policies and initiatives.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

UAE tech startups are growing thanks to significant investments, government support, and a strategic focus on high-growth sectors such as AI, fintech, and cybersecurity. The UAE’s startup ecosystem has seen a 32% growth in the last year. It has a global ranking of #21, and aims to increase its total number of startups to over two million by 2031, according to StartupBlink and The Economic Times.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

It is worth noting that GITEX Dubai devotes a significant amount of floor space to production-grade AI – model safety, evaluation, and retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) are all included in the show.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

Expand North Star will once again be a major attraction, curated by the Dubai Chamber of Digital Economy and held at Dubai Harbour. As the world’s largest startup and investor gathering, it brings together founders and investors from over 100 countries to facilitate billions of dollars in potential deal flow across frontier sectors, including fintech, healthtech, spacetech, climate tech, and deep tech. This dynamic ecosystem underscores Dubai\u2019s emergence as a top five global startup capital, with venture funding in the Mena region surpassing $4 billion in 2024, according to MAGNiTT data.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

With Expand North Star, there will be more space and flexibility to engage and develop the international community with an even more creative and impactful program. It will be held concurrently with the inaugural Gitex Impact and Future Urbanism Summit &amp; Expo.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

In continuation of its successful first participation, ZEBOX, the international innovation accelerator of the CMA CGM Group, will return to GITEX 2025 in Dubai with a delegation of nine promising startups. In this year’s selection of startups, two key themes are highlighted: decarbonization and safety (of goods, people, and cyberspace).<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

From October 12 to 15, startups from ZEBOX’s international Acceleration Program will exhibit their solutions at Expand North Star, an area dedicated to startups and innovative companies at GITEX. There will be 200,000 visitors from around the world, 1,500 investors, and leading international corporations attending the event. In this ecosystem, ZEBOX startups have the opportunity to connect with decision-makers and build strategic partnerships, particularly in the Middle East and North Africa.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

Biomitech<\/a><\/strong>\u00a0(Founded by Franck Schenaerts):<\/strong>\u00a0Biomitech purifies air using microalgae that transform pollutants into oxygen and biomass, capturing up to 85% of particles.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

Privamap<\/a><\/strong>\u00a0(Founded by Estelle Valeri):\u00a0<\/strong>Privamap secures sensitive areas with an intelligent system for flow control and guidance, powered by digital mapping.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

Bubo Initiative<\/a><\/strong>\u00a0(Founded by Renaud Alliod):<\/strong>\u00a0Bubo Initiative offers an all-in-one platform that enables SMEs to manage cybersecurity and regulatory compliance.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

Ras Al Khaimah Economic Zone (RAKEZ) is gearing up for a high-impact presence at GITEX Global 2025, taking place from 13 to 17 October at Dubai World Trade Centre (DWTC), where it will connect with entrepreneurs and tech-driven companies looking to establish or grow their presence in the UAE. The zone will use the platform to share how its ecosystem supports innovation, investment, and long-term business success in the region.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

Gitex has had a profound impact on the UAE’s innovation landscape far beyond its exhibition halls. In the past few years, it has stimulated the formation of strategic institutions such as the Dubai Future Foundation, Hub71, in5 Innovation Centres, DIFC FinTech Hive, and Dtec, which have collectively nurtured thousands of startups, innovators, and future-ready talent. They constitute a national ecosystem that promotes digital diversification and economic resilience.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n
