Flend, a Cairo, Egypt-based provider of a digital and FRA-regulated SME financing platform, raised $3M in Equity and Debt in Seed funding.

The equity round was led by Egypt Ventures, with participation from Camel Ventures, Sukna Ventures, Plus VC, Banque Misr, and regional family offices including El Sewedy and Baalbaki, alongside strategic corporate bankers. On the debt side, it has secured facilities from MSMEDA, as well as other local banking partners.

The company intends to use the funds to accelerate expansion of embedded financing through partnerships with digital platforms serving SMEs, expand its team, and deepen its proprietary tech infrastructure.

Led by CEO Ahmed Zaki, Flend provides a tech-enabled, fully regulated digital financing platform dedicated to serving SMEs, offering a short-term working capital through a fully digital process, from onboarding and credit scoring to disbursement and collections.

In parallel, the company finances SMEs directly in strategic sectors such as healthcare distribution, agri-food, manufacturing, e-commerce, retail, and local exporters.

In late 2024, Flend became the first company in Egypt to be licensed by the Financial Regulatory Authority (FRA) as a Digital Non-Banking Financial Institution (Digital NBFI) dedicated to SME lending.
