Claude Design is powered by Anthropic’s most advanced vision model, Claude Opus 4.7, and is currently available in research preview for Claude Pro, Max, Team, and Enterprise subscribers. The rollout is being conducted gradually, with access expanding to users throughout the day.
Expanding Creative Possibilities
Claude Design addresses a longstanding challenge in the design process: limited time for exploration. Even experienced designers often narrow their creative options due to time constraints, while non-designers—such as founders, product managers, and marketers—face barriers in translating ideas into visual outputs.
The platform enables users to generate an initial design simply by describing their requirements. From there, designs can be refined through natural conversation, inline comments, direct edits, or dynamically generated adjustment controls. When integrated with organizational assets, Claude can automatically apply a company’s design system—ensuring consistency across projects.
Broad Use Cases Across Teams
Organizations are already leveraging Claude Design across a range of workflows:
- Realistic Prototypes: Transforming static mockups into interactive, shareable prototypes for user testing without requiring code reviews.
- Wireframes and Mockups: Allowing product managers to map feature flows and collaborate seamlessly with development or design teams.
- Design Exploration: Enabling designers to rapidly generate and evaluate multiple creative directions.
- Presentations: Supporting the creation of fully branded pitch decks and presentations from simple outlines, exportable to PPTX or platforms like Canva.
- Marketing Assets: Facilitating the creation of landing pages, campaign visuals, and social media content with iterative refinement.
- Advanced Prototyping: Allowing users to build code-powered prototypes incorporating voice, video, 3D elements, and embedded AI.
Seamless Workflow Integration
Claude Design is built around a natural and flexible creative workflow:
- Built-In Brand Systems: During onboarding, Claude analyzes a team’s codebase and design files to generate a reusable design system, automatically applied across projects.
- Flexible Inputs: Users can start from text prompts, upload documents (DOCX, PPTX, XLSX), or connect directly to their codebase. A web capture tool also allows elements to be imported from live websites.
- Granular Editing Controls: Users can fine-tune designs through inline feedback, direct content edits, and adjustable layout and styling controls, with changes scalable across entire projects.
- Collaborative Environment: Designs support organization-wide sharing with configurable permissions, enabling teams to co-edit and interact with Claude in real time.
- Export and Distribution: Outputs can be shared via internal links, saved in folders, or exported in formats including PDF, PPTX, standalone HTML, or external design tools.
- Development Handoff: Completed designs can be packaged into a structured bundle for seamless transfer to Claude Code for implementation.
Looking Ahead
Anthropic stated that, in the coming weeks, it will expand integration capabilities for Claude Design, enabling organizations to connect the platform more deeply with their existing tools and workflows.
With Claude Design, Anthropic aims to democratize high-quality visual creation, empowering both designers and non-designers to move from idea to execution more efficiently and collaboratively.
