
The opening ceremony was attended by Lieutenant General Hoang Xuan Chien, Member of the Party Central Committee, Standing Member of the Central Military Commission, Deputy Minister of National Defense, Vietnamese Ambassador to the UAE Nguyen Thanh Diep, representatives of the UAE Ministry of Defense, and large corporations and technology companies such as Airbus, Emirates National Holding, 777 Military Equipment LLC, Vaukt Management Consultants…
The UAE is a major economic and financial center of the Middle East, and at the same time plays the role of an important trade gateway connecting Asia, Europe and Africa. The establishment of a representative office in the UAE helps Viettel to have a direct presence in a market with great technology attraction, creating a platform to reach deeper local needs and open up wider cooperation opportunities.
The representative office in the UAE was established to strengthen touchpoints with international partners to promote Viettel’s “Go Global” strategy, and at the same time attract foreign partners to cooperate and invest in Viettel in particular and contribute to Vietnam in general.
Sharing at the opening ceremony, Senior Lieutenant General Hoang Xuan Chien emphasized: “Viettel’s official presence in the UAE not only marks a new development step of the Group, but also demonstrates Vietnam’s long-term vision in developing the defense industry and high technology associated with international economic integration. The Ministry of National Defense of Vietnam always cares, supports and creates all favorable conditions for Viettel to continue to develop strongly, and at the same time encourages the expansion of international cooperation on the basis of equality and mutual benefit”.
In recent years, the UAE in particular and the GCC in general are regions with a stable development environment, large spending on technology infrastructure and digital solutions. These are all areas that are suitable for Viettel’s implementation experience in many countries. In the future, Viettel will have favorable conditions to establish and expand its partner network in many fields, including telecommunications, digital technology, e-government solutions, smart cities, cybersecurity, high-tech research and production and international services.
Speaking at the ceremony, Major General Nguyen Dinh Chien, Deputy General Director of the Group affirmed: “We come to the UAE not only to look for business opportunities. We come here in the spirit of long-term cooperation, trust and mutual sustainable value creation. Viettel is committed to: respecting the law, culture and standards of the UAE; promote transparent and mutually beneficial cooperation; investing in technology, people and innovation; contributing to expanding economic-technological-defense cooperation between Vietnam and the UAE”.
In terms of diplomacy, Vietnamese Ambassador to the UAE Nguyen Thanh Diep said: “This is a very important event, a new milestone in Viettel’s development journey, a testament to the comprehensive partnership between Vietnam and the UAE – two dynamic economies, The two partners share a vision for innovation, digital transformation and sustainable development.”
Within the framework of the event, Viettel signed 4 strategic cooperation agreements with large technology corporations ABI Group (UAE), Sicurezza Corporation (UAE), STREIT (UAE) and INNOSPACE (Korea) in the fields of industry, high technology and equipment manufacturing.
Chairman of ABI Group, Mr. Bader Al Ali shared: “We are honored to be a strategic partner of Viettel in the UAE. This relationship is not only based on business interests, but also built on the common values of creativity and sustainable economic development.”
In addition to the Representative Office in the UAE, Viettel has opened more Representative Offices in Japan, the United States, Australia, and Singapore to continue to affirm the vision, aspiration and bravery to reach out to the world of a military enterprise with the mission of developing for the country, for the people, etc for peace, cooperation and prosperity.
Two days before the opening of the Representative Office in the UAE, Viettel and EDGE – one of the world’s leading advanced technology and defense corporations – signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) at the Dubai Air Show 2025. The two sides agreed to cooperate in the fields of high-tech defense industry such as radar, electronic warfare and anti-UAV, optoelectronics, communications, command-control, training and simulation, as well as high-tech aviation, space and weapons solutions.
In 2025, Viettel has recorded many important cooperation in the Middle East: in June, it signed a contract to deploy the Security Operation Monitoring Center phase 1 for the Ministry of Interior of Kuwait; at the end of July, he signed a contract to provide traffic and vehicle security monitoring systems for the Dubai Police.
